AXA Power Recommends 28 VDC GPU

- Full 90 kVA power on a plug that is connected to the A380

For mobile engine drive GPUs
- minimum 2 plugs with full 90 kVA power rating on each and 28 VDC GPU

For fixed installations
- Install 3 x 90 kVA from day one
- Design and build 50/60 Hz mains supply for 4 x 90 kVA i.e. 360 kVA

The optimal choice of 400 Hz Ground Power for PBBs and 28 VDC GPU

Traditionally, a 400 Hz ground power 28 VDC GPUsolution for passenger boarding bridges consists of several separate systems or parts, i.e the GPU, a cable coil, 28 VDC GPU or a hoist, interconnection cables, 28 VDC GPU and aircraft cable; often from different manufacturers, all requiring separate on-site testing and commissioning. With the launch of the AXA Power coil and 28 VDC GPU, all these disparate components have been combined in one single state of the art unit.

The system and 28 VDC GPU

The system consists of one housing built together with one 90 kVA solid-state converter and a frequency controlled electro-mechanical chain driven cable drum. The drum is able to coil the aircraft cable and 28 VDC GPU in and out automatically without help from the operator. The frequency drive provides smooth rpm ramping and less mechanical stress with 28 VDC GPU.
